Lined Flush Bottom Valve

Design, Standard and Features
  • Interior valve bodies as well as the stem and ball are individually lined with PFA or PVDF/FEP
  • Ball is fully encapsulated in PFA/FEP. Ceramic Balls are also available which are interchangeable
  • Anti-blow out stem assembly for preventing stem blow out even when top gear is disassembled
  • Short pattern face to face dimension in accordance with ANSI B16.10 and ANSI B 16.5, 150 lbs.(flange dimension) - facilitating replacement of fully lined or sleeved plug valves with Horizon lined ball valves without altering existing pipework
  • Valves supplied with anti-static devices for protection against potentially dangerous electrostatic discharge
  • Free floating Ball Valve Principle ensures the ball seals against the downstream seat ring giving a positive sealing force even when line pressure is low
  • All inherent design features of a conventional ball valve such as low torque, quarter-turn operation, bubble tight shut off and a minimum pressure drop
  • Valves have been satisfactorily tested for Helium Leak test to meet with ASME Sec V Article 10; witnessed by Independent Inspection Agency(TUV)
Construction Material
  • Valve bodies available in Ductile iron material - ASTM A395 (60-40-18) & in CAST carbon steel ASTM A216WCB
  • Valve bodies can be supplied in all grades of stainless steel material as per request

Refer Technical Datasheet for material specifications of individual components

Low torque for easier operation
  • Requires significantly lower torque for operation than equivalent plug valves
  • Easy manual operation and considerably low actual figures

Unique Lining Method

  • Processing polymers such as PFA/FEP by injection moulding is extremely critical as the process requires close monitoring with controlled heating & cooling of assemblies during the entire moulding stage.
  • This process at Horizon takes place in its very own fully equipped in-house manufacturing facility. It houses a semi-automatic special purpose injection moulding machine which is used for pre-heating and lining cast housings. The machine has a transfer system in which injection and transfer of plasticised material is done through an isothermal process. The facility is a one of its kind in India having its own advantages over the conventional lining method which uses transfer moulded system.
  • The design for tooling assembly ensures that mandrels are centrally located when assembled inside the cast housing and maintain this position through the entire moulding stage. This ensures uniform lining thickness of every fitting/cast body and zero residual stress. The lining technique also ensures that the liner fits closely inside the cast housing which is very important for high vacuum ratings.
